Los Campesinos - Webster Hall 8/4/09

anilineLos Campesinos! were amazing and both of their shows I've seen are in my top 10 favorite shows of all time. The venue was a lot bigger but we were closer and the audience was a lot better than last time.
Highlights:
-the entire show was the same freakishly high level of energy from start to finish. Every song felt like the last song in the set because everyone was so into it.
-new songs!!!
-the guy who held the cables for the mic and the guitar was having so much fun. I've never seen a guy doing that who isn't all cynical and angry about it.
-the audience was great. Hilariously annoying sometimes, but great. Confused fratboys who had no idea where they were but high-fived each other about it just the same, Team Old Guy who were so drunk they thought they were listening to a DJ, and a generally enthusiastic crowd that bounced and sang and yelled at all of the appropriate parts.
-a photographer dropped her huge several hundred dollar lens into the crowd from the VIP balcony. I still can't believe it didn't severely injure anyone!
-I had the best spot - on the far left side about 5 people back. I had tons of room but was still in the pit. My feet hurt from jumping up and down. heh.
