And for some reason, that put me in mind of the old, abandoned Armstrong Cork Factory (http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=armstrong%20cork%20factory&w=all&s=int) that used to be in Pittsburgh, next to the strip. I'm really sad that I didn't wander around and take pictures in that place before it was torn down (http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05008/438992.stm), because it was a very cool space (http://www.flickr.com/photos/macwagen/402055544/) with some astounding atmosphere (http://www.flickr.com/photos/macwagen/407819808/).
Unfortunately, it also had some very, very irate homeless folks who didn't like me wandering around.
Huh. Apparently, it got turned into apartments (http://www.thecorkfactory.com/). Really, really nice apartments. Really, really nice apartments right next to the strip, for rent prices that (while way high for Pittsburgh) are quite reasonable (for someone used to rent prices in DC or New York).
Oh man. If I could live there and work here, I'd do it in a second.
